Alexandra Oval & Alexandra Gardens Redevelopment

What is happening?

Ararat Rural City Council has appointed Land Design Partnership and its team of sub-consultants to develop a plan to improve the Alexandra Oval and Alexandra Gardens area.  In recent times we invested funds to develop the Alexandra Oval Community Centre at the Oval.  In Alexandra Gardens we have also developed new walking paths, installed outdoor exercise equipment, constructed a kiosk and change room facility and reopened the outdoor Olympic Pool.

We now wish to develop Alexandra Oval as the premier sporting facility for the region and municipality by developing high quality sporting infrastructure such as improved netball facilities, development of amenities, improved training and storage areas for users and landscaping.  As part of this project we also aim to develop pedestrian connections around the oval area to the Alexandra Gardens so that this whole area can become a focus for recreation and community life within Ararat.

Preliminary plans have been prepared in the past and we are now very keen to find out from you what you think should be included in the development. Once community members and stakeholders have had an input into the project, the project team will prepare concepts for community feedback.  Once a final plan has been confirmed, the project team will develop detailed designs and costings to help us apply for grants to fund the works.
