Planning Scheme Amendment C46arat
Amendment C46arat to the Ararat Planning Scheme seeks to rezone the land on the southwest corner of Queen Street and Moore Street, described as Allotment 4D-12A on Plan of Subdivision 5017 from Public Park and Recreation Zone (PPRZ) to Commercial 1 Zone (C1Z).
The park has been de-commissioned for many years and the Council is working with the state government to bring the land to market to consolidate the commercial centre of the town.
The amendment documents are available for inspection, free of charge, in the following ways :
- At the Ararat Rural City website at https://www.ararat.vic.gov.au/; and/or
- during office hours, at the Council office; and/or
- at the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning website www.delwp.vic.gov.au/public-inspection.
Submissions
Any person who may be affected by the amendment may make a written submission to Council giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the amendment is supported or opposed and indicating what changes (if any) the submitter wishes to make.
Name and contact details of submitters are required for Council to consider submissions and to notify you of the opportunity to attend the Council meetings and any public hearing held to consider submissions.
The closing date for submissions is 4th March 2022. A submission must be sent to:

Council must make a copy of every submission available at its office and/or on its website for any person to inspect free of charge for two months after the amendment comes into operation or lapses.
