Australia Day Awards 2018
Each year Ararat Rural City Council presents awards to local citizens and community groups that have made outstanding contributions to the community.
This year these awards have been selected and provided by Ararat Rural City Council on behalf of the National Australia Day Council. The awards not only recognise the contribution within the community but the ongoing commitment undertaken by all individuals for the benefit of the community.
It is an opportunity to honour individuals or groups who continued to make a difference to the Ararat Rural City community in the past year.
These awards will be presented during the Australia Day Celebrations on 26th January, 2018. Further details on times and locations will be confirmed closer to.
The four awards presented will be Ararat Ambassador, Multicultural Harmony, Community Spirit, Inspiring Healthy Living.
Nomination forms must be returned by COB on Friday, January 12, 2018.
An individual who is an Australian Citizen and either resides or works in the Ararat Rural City, who has either made an outstanding contribution during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the community of the Ararat Rural City over a number of years.
An individual/group or organisation that has made an outstanding contribution in bringing the whole community together to celebrate our Cultural Diversity. Assisting in highlighting the skills and talents of our diverse multicultural community and recognizing the principals of inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
An individual/group or organisation that has made or are making a significant or ongoing voluntary contribution within the community. This award recognises and celebrates the achievements of volunteers who promote citizen engagement, community pride and a positive outlook on the future needs of the community.
Inspiring Healthy Living:
An individual/group or organisation that has made an outstanding contribution in the promotion and ongoing commitment of healthy living within the community. Assisting in playing a major part in supporting local community members to better health, contributing to improved services, activities being provided to the community.
